Reporting Groups

Reporting groups allow you to group up to 16 monitored values together and report on them periodically or on demand. Periodic reporting is controlled by the Reporting Period setting. On demand reporting is controlled via a Modbus register. See the Control section for more details regarding on demand publishing.

There are 16 Reporting Group instances, each with 16 slots, for up to 256 values in total. However, only 32 of each type of digital, integer or floating point values can be monitored, for a total of 96 unique values.

Enable Reporting

1. Enable Reporting
Select this option to enable this reporting group. If the reporting group is not enabled neither periodic reports nor on demand reports will be published.
2

Reporting Period

2. Reporting Period
Enter the Reporting Period in seconds here. Note that the actual maximum rate for periodic reporting will be heavily dependent on RTU loading and network throughput, including latency. For the fastest publishing, choose JSON formatted data instead of tags, because tag data requires many small network transactions whereas the entire JSON object is published in one transaction.

See the Operational Details section for more information.

Slot 1 Digital

3. Slot 1 Digital
A reporting group has 16 available slots, and each slot can report a single value. Choose the Report Digital Value option to report on a digital value in this slot.

If the Report Digital Value option is selected, choose the actual value to report in the Digital Value to Report setting. This drop down box will show all monitored digital values with their user configured names.

Slot 1 Integer

4. Slot 1 Integer
A reporting group has 16 available slots, and each slot can report a single value. Choose the Report Integer Value option to report on a integer value in this slot.

If the Report Integer Value option is selected, choose the actual value to report in the Integer Value to Report setting. This drop down box will show all monitored integer values with their user configured names.

Slot 1 Float

5. Slot 1 Float
A reporting group has 16 available slots, and each slot can report a single value. Choose the Report Float Value option to report on a floating point value in this slot.

If the Report Float Value option is selected, choose the actual value to report in the Float Value to Report setting. This drop down box will show all monitored float values with their user configured names.

In this example, slot 1 is used to report the floating point value named static pressure.

Slots 2 to 16

6. Slots 2 to 16
Slots 2 to 16 are repeats of the slot 1 configuration values. In this case, slot 2 is used to report the floating point value named differential pressure.
