Optimization Limits

Optimization Limits are used to limit the range of adjustments made to flow or shut in conditions by the optimization algorithm. See the Optimization section in the Operational Details section for information on how the optimization algorithm works.

Optimization limits are only used if automatic optimization is enabled.

Each condition in the Flow Conditions or Shut In Conditions group has an associated Low Range and High Range optimization limit. Limits are specified as a percentage of the set point. For example, if the Minimum Tubing Pressure Flow Condition value was set to 500, and the Low Range optimization limit was set to 10%, and the High Range optimization limit was set to 20%, the optimization algorithm would be allowed to adjust the set point to any where between 500 * (1 - 0.1) = 450 to 500 * (1 + 0.2) = 600.

Optimization can be disabled for any condition by setting the Low Range and High Range limits to 0. When the limits are 0, no automatic adjustments are allowed for that specific parameter.
