This section describes the various tank shapes and the dimensions that are required for each shape. Each tank has an associated Max Volume status parameter that can be used to verify that the tank's dimension were entered correctly and that the maximum volume of the tank as calculated by the Tank Volume application matches the manufacturer's specification.
All values are inner dimensions.
Use the Max Volume status parameter to validate the tank's dimensions.
Vertical Cylinder
A vertical cylinder tank uses the Height and Diameter parameters. Other parameters are unused.
Horizontal Cylinder
A horizontal cylinder tank uses the Length and Diameter parameters. Other parameters are unused.
Vertical Capsule
A vertical capsule tank uses the Height and Diameter parameters. Other parameters are unused. The Height must be greater than the Diameter.
Horizontal Capsule
A horizontal capsule tank uses the Length and Diameter parameters. Other parameters are unused. The Length must be greater than the Diameter.
Rectangle
A rectangle tank uses the Height, Width and Length parameters. Other parameters are unused.
Vertical Oval
A vertical oval tank uses the Width, Length and Height parameters. Other parameters are unused. The Height must be greater than the Width.
Horizontal Oval
A horizontal oval tank uses the Height, Width and Length parameters. Other parameters are unused. The Width must be greater than the Height
