Use settings in this group to synchronize ethernet communications settings.

Settings Details

This area show details about the selected local communications settings and the the selected remote communications settings.

Commit Comment

2. Commit Comment
Enter a comment here where creating a new remote revision or when exporting communications settings to the remote database. A comment is required before export can proceed.

Action Buttons

3. Action Buttons
Use these buttons to synchronize communications settings.
 
Use the Export Local Comm Setting to Database button to create new remote communications settings at Revision 1 from the selected local communications settings. This copies the selected local communications settings to the remote database. This button is always enabled when connected to the remote database.
 
Use the Create New Revision of Remote Comm Setting button to copy the selected local communications settings to a new revision of the selected remote communications settings. This button is only enabled when connected to a remote database and when a set of remote communications settings are selected.
 
Use the Create New Local Settings from Remote Settings button to create new local communications settings from the selected remote communications settings. This copies the remote communications settings to the local database. This button is enabled when connected to a remote database and a set of remote communications settings is selected. A specific version of the remote communications settings must always be selected too.

Search

4. Search
Enter text in the Local Search box to search all local apps, licenses, communications settings and files. Enter text in the Remote Search box to search all remote apps, licenses, communications settings and files.
 
If consistent naming is used across all of the different types of settings this feature make it easy to find related apps, licenses, communications settings and files.

Local Settings

5. Local Settings
Use this area to select local communications settings. All of the local ethernet communications settings from the Comm Settings tab will appear here.

Remote Settings

6. Remote Settings
Use this area to select a set of remote communications settings from the external database. When you select communications settings here you normally won't be able to do anything with it without selecting a specific version from the Revision Information area.
 
The Name, IP Address and Connection Type fields will be populated with the values from the latest revision.
 
Use the Refresh All Remote Settings button to completely reload the list of remote communications settings and all of their associated revisions.
 
Use the Refresh Selected Comm Setting button to reload the revisions for the selected remote communications settings. It's a good idea to do this before a check-in so that all revision information is up to date before the new version is added to the remote database.
 
Use the Delete Remote Comm Settings button to delete all revisions of the selected remote communications settings. This action cannot be undone.

Revision Information

7. Revision Information
This area shows the available revisions for the selected remote communications settings. The Revision Number field is incremented automatically for each check-in. The Created By field is automatically populated with the user's Windows user name.
