October 12, 2020

• Update SCADASuite Management to reduce issues with alt-tab. This should also mitigate the issue where the application sometimes crashes after losing focus or remaining idle.

May 25, 2020

• For Plunger Lift config version 1.4.2, app version 1.4.4
  • Reset the consective plunger no-arrival counts that are used for recovery mode when recovery mode is disabled or Plunger Exists is unchecked. This prevents the plunger lift program from getting stuck in recovery mode under certain operating conditions.
  • Correctly calculate well flow and critical flow averages during post-arrival injection when the Post Arrival Injection Mode is Continuous Variable Flow.
  • Inject gas during pre-arrival injection even if the previous plunger arrival type is unknown. Normal arrival injection settings will be used and normal arrival injection must be enabled for gas to actually be injected.
  • Configuration version is unchanged from the previous release. To get the fix, make sure to use app version 1.4.4.
• Changed SCADASuite Management version to 3.39.

• For Plunger Lift config version 1.4.2, app version 1.4.3
  • The optimized set point for the Critical Flow Shut In Condition is now decreased on very early plunger arrival and increased on very late plunger arrival. Previously, adjustments were reversed.

  • Fixed a bug with how the average well flow used by the Continuous Varible Flow gas lift mode is calculated.

  • Allow the selection of Continuous Variable Flow for Post Arrival Injection when the Gas Lift Control Mode is Plunger.
  • When the Advance to Flow command is triggered, the program will move to the Waiting for Plunger arrival state if the well has a plunger, otherwise the program will move to the After Flow Delay state.

  • When the Gas Lift Control Mode is Continuous Critical Injection, and the Sales Valve Action is enabled, and the Sales Valve Action is Shut In Injection, the program would try to control the well flow rate instead of the injection flow rate. This is now fixed and the program will control the injection flow rate when in this state.
  • When a plunger control loop was disabled, but the associated gas lift control loop was enabled, the Valve Control Register would be written to. This is fixed and the Valve Control Register is only written to if the plunger control loop is enabled.

  • The application will not read or write to any modbus registers after being copied to the RTU until a configuration is downloaded to the application.

  • Add a user configurable amount of averaging to the well flow rate that is used for gas lift. This helps with noise rejection and erroneous measurements.

  • Changed the Minimum Line Pressure Flow Condition to Maximum Line Pressure. The condition is now met when the actual line pressure is less than the threshold.

  • Fixed a bug with Gas Lift in the Injection Steps mode. Exiting the step is now handled properly when the pressure increment is negative.

• Reworked Plunger Lift so that it doesn't cause a memory leak in the RTU. The memory leak is not in SCADASuite, but in the RTU's firmware, however implementation specifics of SCADASuite can expose the firmware bug. The changes to Plunger Lift are purely internal and no changes to functionality were implemented.

• Reverted MQTT to config version 0.6.1 and app version 0.6.1. The newer version (0.7.4) works, but interacts with the RTU in such a way that a memory leak occurs as the RTU services inbound TCP/IP connections. Version 0.7.4 of the MQTT app can be used for testing, but cannot be used in production.
• We've left the user manual as is for now, since the new MQTT features will be released, but it will take a few more days.
• Reworked AppSuite base firmware to reduce an interaction with the RTU firmware where the RTU leaks memory as it services TCP/IP connections. To be clear, the leak is not in AppSuite, but in the RTU, however, the leak does not occur unless AppSuite is installed on the RTU. Our best guess is that the dynamic linking that occurs when the .out file is downloaded to the RTU is not working perfectly in some cases. This effect can be mitigated by careful design of the AppSuite firmware.

• Added support for publishing on change to the MQTT application. You can now select a deadband and the application will publish the value when it changes by more than the deadband. The deadband can be specified as a fixed value or a percentage of the current value.
• Added support for Cirrus Link's Sparkplug B publishing format to the MQTT application. This allows for automated tag generation and metadata transfer from the RTU to the Host in supported applications like Ignition SCADA.

• Added support for generating register overlap reports. This report shows register overlaps within the same app, across multiple apps and can optionally include RealFlo registers.
• Added support to all applications for Extended Modbus Configuration. This feature allows configuration of the application via Modbus on the basis of each configuration group instance, instead of only for the entire application. Configuration registers are no longer multiplexed, and it is also possible to export the current configuration to read-only (input and contact) registers. This feature can reduce the number of registers required for configuration by not using registers for unwanted instances. It also allows for granular control of register placement, since each configuration group instance has its own set of address offsets from the application's base Modbus addresses.
• Added a configuration tab to test screen for applications that support extended configuration. This allows users to test configuration over Modbus without building an HMI or leaving the AppSuite PC Configuration Program.
• A new version of Plunger Lift:
  • Moved flow conditions, shut in conditions and protection settings back to configuration from control.
  • Allowed changes of the configuration without reintializing the control loop. This feature, combined with support for extended modbus configuration, allows for changes on the fly while preserving the useful functions (Compare, Version, Change Log) of an AppSuite application.
  • Added a 'Waiting for Plunger Arrival' control state. Added a timeout when in this state.The well is shut in immediately when the plunger doesn't arrive within the configured timeout.
  • Added the time since the last reset statistics command for each control loop.
  • Added a new arrival type of 'unknown'. This is the default arrival type instead of 'no arrival'.
  • The manual override coil for each control loop tracks the current state of the sales valve. When manual override is enabled, the state of the valve will be preserved.
  • Numerous small bug fixes and enhancements.

• Added the ability to exclude configuration registers from a Modbus CSV export.
• Added Extended On Demand to the Datalogs Application. Use a coil to trigger data logging at a configurable period for a configurable duration.
• Added an end of cycle indicator to the Plunger Lift application. A coil is set when a plunger control cycle is complete, which can be used to trigger a datalog.
• Reduced the number of Register Settings configuration groups in Plunger Lift from 8 to 4.

• Fixed a bug which appeared on the Test tab. The values for Modbus coils or contacts would be read multiple times and were not properly de-duplicated, causing Modbus polling to stop

• Added support for the initial release of Well Test.
• Disabled configuration over Modbus by default for all apps. It's still possible to enable configuration over Modbus, but it's not longer enabled by default. This eliminates register contention with Realflo.
• Changed the default base holding address for all apps. This eliminates contention with Realflo. Take care when enabling configuration via Modbus, becuase the default base addresses for holding registers do not provide enough register space to support configuration.

• Added support for an updated Datalogs application. This release includes better support for on demand logging. Multiple datalogs can now log on demand via the same coil.

• Changed the URL for the RTU programs from a constant value regardless of version to a different URL per version. This prevents old content from being cached by the CDN when new RTU programs are published. This will require an update to the PC application each time new RTU programs are published, which is probably okay.
