Sparkplug B is an effort from Cirrus Link to standardize the payload used by MQTT and allow 'out of the box' interoperability between software and devices from different vendors. The SCADASuite MQTT application supports Sparkplug B.
Some advanced functionality is possible when using the Sparkplug B data format, Cirrus Link's MQTT Engine and Ignition SCADA. This includes automatic tag generation, some metadata upload (units, eng low and high values) and history upload.
The video below demonstrates automatic tag generation with metadata upload. The values that are uploaded are the same ones as the Cloud MQTT demo.
